Meet Mr. Lith

I've been learning how to paint rocks for a bit of change of pace.  This guy was too damn cool to paint!  Why aren't the other Woldwardens as cool is this fly rock dude?!  He seemed like he was just asking for some extras, so I moved in a bird family to ride along.

Back from the dead!

Lord of the feast is done!  Unfortunately my camera charger is still MIA so you guys will have to tolerate my iphone pictures for now.  This guy was a blast to paint.  By far my favorite circle model to date!  Now where is that low def infantry....

Centurion complete

I completed painting and basing the Centurion over the weekend. He took exactly 7 days from busting him out of the package to completely painted and sealed. The only thing left to do is to put the matte coat on and buy a Dragonforge base to replace the shitty one I made.

Here's a few pictures from the course of the week.

Black brush-on primer

Highlight colors first, because I'm weird

Midtones and shading on the blue plates, first coats on white plates

Posing with his Commander Nemo

And done, but still glossy.

Centurion Repose

I spent much of Sunday hacking, slashing, grinding, pinning, gluing and filing. The goal was to 'fix' the Centurion. His default pose is lifeless and he has a toothpick for a spear. Having seen some inspiring modifications from other folks such as here, I decided to try my hand at a major repose; my first attempt.

Here are the results. The only thing I'm not really happy with is the pose of the spear arm. I may break from the concept art this pose was derived from and have it pointed more aggressively.

This is how they want me to look. Am I not a sad hunchback?

Box o Skorne!

This time the box is filled with 35 points of Skorne. Magnets are great.

The Beast is Loose!

This was my New Year's Weekend. Aint he cute? He took about 8 hours to complete and is really my first attempt at severe weathering. It's mostly mud and blood.

You won't like him when he's angry. You won't like him when he's mildly irritated either.

Siege joins the painted minis

I took a break from painting Skorne to get some blue color back on my brush. Siege got the call and went under the brush for a few hours and here's how he came out. Out of everything, I'd say I'm most proud of the face. I'm not usually able to get that much detail. He has proper eyes and everything
